ganāti. āSir, the factors of stream-entry are associating with true persons, listening to the true teaching, rational application of mind, and practicing in line with the teaching.ā

Sappurisasaį¹sevo hi, sÄriputta, sotÄpattiyaį¹
gaį¹, saddhammassavanaį¹ sotÄpattiyaį¹
gaį¹, yonisomanasikÄro sotÄpattiyaį¹
gaį¹, dhammÄnudhammappaį¹ipatti sotÄpattiyaį¹
gaį¹. For the factors of stream-entry are associating with true persons, listening to the true teaching, rational application of mind, and practicing in line with the teaching.
āSoto, sotoāti hidaį¹, sÄriputta, vuccati. SÄriputta, they speak of āthe streamā.

āAyameva hi, bhante, ariyo aį¹į¹haį¹
giko maggo soto, seyyathidaį¹āāSir, the stream is simply this noble eightfold path, that is:
sammÄdiį¹į¹hi, sammÄsaį¹
kappo, sammÄvÄcÄ, sammÄkammanto, sammÄÄjÄ«vo, sammÄvÄyÄmo, sammÄsati, sammÄsamÄdhÄ«āti. right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right immersion.ā
āSÄdhu sÄdhu, sÄriputta. āGood, good, SÄriputta!
Ayameva hi, sÄriputta, ariyo aį¹į¹haį¹
giko maggo soto, seyyathidaį¹āFor the stream is simply this noble eightfold path, that is:
sammÄdiį¹į¹hi ā¦peā¦ sammÄsamÄdhi. right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right immersion.
āSotÄpanno, sotÄpannoāti hidaį¹, sÄriputta, vuccati. SÄriputta, they speak of āa stream-entererā.

gottoāti. āSir, anyone who possesses this noble eightfold path is called a stream-enterer, the venerable of such and such name and clan.ā

Yo hi, sÄriputta, iminÄ ariyena aį¹į¹haį¹
gikena maggena samannÄgato ayaį¹ vuccati sotÄpanno, svÄyaį¹ ÄyasmÄ evaį¹nÄmo evaį¹
gottoāti. For anyone who possesses this noble eightfold path is called a stream-enterer, the venerable of such and such name and clan.ā
