Sotāpannasutta A Stream-Enterer

ā€œChayimāni, bhikkhave, indriyāni. ā€œMendicants, there are these six faculties.

Katamāni cha? What six?

Cakkhundriyaṁ …pe… manindriyaṁ. The faculties of the eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind.

Yato kho, bhikkhave, ariyasāvako imesaṁ channaṁ indriyānaṁ samudayaƱca atthaį¹…gamaƱca assādaƱca ādÄ«navaƱca nissaraṇaƱca yathābhÅ«taṁ pajānāti—A noble disciple comes to truly understand these six faculties’ origin, ending, gratification, drawback, and escape.

ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, ariyasāvako sotāpanno avinipātadhammo niyato sambodhiparāyaṇoā€ti. Such a noble disciple is called a stream-enterer, not liable to be reborn in the underworld, bound for awakening.ā€
