Āsavakkhayasutta The Ending of Defilements

ā€œPaƱcimāni, bhikkhave, indriyāni. ā€œMendicants, there are these five faculties.

Katamāni paƱca? What five?

Saddhindriyaṁ …pe… paƱƱindriyaṁ—The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom.

imāni kho, bhikkhave, paƱcindriyāni. These are the five faculties.

Imesaṁ kho, bhikkhave, paƱcannaṁ indriyānaṁ bhāvitattā bahulÄ«katattā bhikkhu āsavānaṁ khayā anāsavaṁ cetovimuttiṁ paƱƱāvimuttiṁ diį¹į¹heva dhamme sayaṁ abhiƱƱā sacchikatvā upasampajja viharatÄ«ā€ti. It’s because of developing and cultivating these five faculties that a mendicant realizes the undefiled freedom of heart and freedom by wisdom in this very life. And they live having realized it with their own insight due to the ending of defilements.ā€

Dasamaṁ.

Mudutaravaggo dutiyo.
