VidhÄsutta Discriminations
āTisso imÄ, bhikkhave, vidhÄ. āMendicants, there are three kinds of discrimination.
KatamÄ tisso? What three?
āSeyyohamasmÄ«āti vidhÄ, āsadisohamasmÄ«āti vidhÄ, āhÄ«nohamasmÄ«āti vidhÄāOne discriminates, thinking that āIām betterā or āIām equalā or āIām worseā.
imÄ kho, bhikkhave, tisso vidhÄ. These are the three kinds of discrimination.
ImÄsaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, tissannaį¹ vidhÄnaį¹ abhiƱƱÄya pariƱƱÄya parikkhayÄya pahÄnÄya ariyo aį¹į¹haį¹
giko maggo bhÄvetabbo. The noble eightfold path should be developed for the direct knowledge, complete understanding, finishing, and giving up of these three kinds of discrimination.
