āBrahmacariyaƱca vo, bhikkhave, desessÄmi, brahmacariyaphalÄni ca. āMendicants, I will teach you the spiritual path and the fruits of the spiritual path.

KatamaƱca, bhikkhave, brahmacariyaį¹? And what is the spiritual path?
Ayameva ariyo aį¹į¹haį¹
giko maggo, seyyathidaį¹āIt is simply this noble eightfold path, that is:
sammÄdiį¹į¹hi ā¦peā¦ sammÄsamÄdhi. right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right immersion.
Idaį¹ vuccati, bhikkhave, brahmacariyaį¹. This is called the spiritual path.
KatamÄni ca, bhikkhave, brahmacariyaphalÄni? And what are the fruits of the spiritual path?
SotÄpattiphalaį¹, sakadÄgÄmiphalaį¹, anÄgÄmiphalaį¹, arahattaphalaį¹āThe fruits of stream-entry, once-return, non-return, and perfection.
imÄni vuccanti, bhikkhave, brahmacariyaphalÄnÄ«āti. These are called the fruits of the spiritual path.ā
