gasutta The Path
āKatamo ca, bhikkhave, asaį¹
khatagÄmimaggo? āAnd what is the path that leads to the unconditioned?
Ariyo aį¹į¹haį¹
giko maggo. The noble eightfold path.
Ayaį¹ vuccati, bhikkhave, asaį¹
khatagÄmimaggo. This is called the path that leads to the unconditioned.
Iti kho, bhikkhave, desitaį¹ vo mayÄ asaį¹
khataį¹, desito asaį¹
khatagÄmimaggo. So, mendicants, Iāve taught you the unconditioned and the path that leads to the unconditioned.
Yaį¹, bhikkhave, satthÄrÄ karaį¹Ä«yaį¹ sÄvakÄnaį¹ hitesinÄ anukampakena anukampaį¹ upÄdÄya kataį¹ vo taį¹ mayÄ. Out of sympathy, Iāve done what a teacher should do who wants whatās best for their disciples.
EtÄni, bhikkhave, rukkhamÅ«lÄni, etÄni suƱƱÄgÄrÄni. JhÄyatha, bhikkhave, mÄ pamÄdattha; mÄ pacchÄ vippaį¹isÄrino ahuvattha. Ayaį¹ vo amhÄkaį¹ anusÄsanÄ«āti. Here are these roots of trees, and here are these empty huts. Practice absorption, mendicants! Donāt be negligent! Donāt regret it later! This is my instruction to you.ā
