Sukhasutta Pleasure

ā€œTisso imā, bhikkhave, vedanā. ā€œMendicants, there are these three feelings.

Katamā tisso? What three?

Sukhā vedanā, dukkhā vedanā, adukkhamasukhā vedanā—Pleasant, painful, and neutral feeling.

imā kho, bhikkhave, tisso vedanāti. These are the three feelings.

Sukhaṁ vā yadi vā dukkhaṁ, Whatever is felt

adukkhamasukhaṁ saha; internally and externally—

AjjhattaƱca bahiddhā ca, whether pleasure or pain

yaṁ kiƱci atthi veditaṁ. as well as what’s neutral—

Etaṁ dukkhanti ñatvāna, having known this as suffering,

mosadhammaṁ palokinaṁ; deceptive, falling apart,

Phussa phussa vayaṁ passaṁ, one sees them vanish as they’re experienced again and again:

evaṁ tattha virajjatÄ«ā€ti. that’s how to be free of desire for them.ā€
