āNibbÄnasappÄyaį¹ vo, bhikkhave, paį¹ipadaį¹ desessÄmi. āMendicants, I will teach you a practice thatās conducive to extinguishment.

katamÄ ca sÄ, bhikkhave, nibbÄnasappÄyÄ paį¹ipadÄ? And what is that practice thatās conducive to extinguishment?
Idha, bhikkhave, cakkhuį¹ dukkhanti passati, rÅ«pÄ dukkhÄti passati, cakkhuviƱƱÄį¹aį¹ dukkhanti passati, cakkhusamphasso dukkhoti passati, yampidaį¹ cakkhusamphassapaccayÄ uppajjati vedayitaį¹ sukhaį¹ vÄ dukkhaį¹ vÄ adukkhamasukhaį¹ vÄ tampi dukkhanti passati ā¦peā¦ Itās when a mendicant sees that the eye, sights, eye consciousness, and eye contact are suffering. And they see that the painful, pleasant, or neutral feeling that arises conditioned by eye contact is also suffering.
jivhÄ dukkhÄti passati ā¦peā¦ They see that the ear ā¦ nose ā¦ tongue ā¦ body ā¦
mano dukkhoti passati, dhammÄ dukkhÄti passati, manoviƱƱÄį¹aį¹ dukkhanti passati, manosamphasso dukkhoti passati, yampidaį¹ manosamphassapaccayÄ uppajjati vedayitaį¹ sukhaį¹ vÄ dukkhaį¹ vÄ adukkhamasukhaį¹ vÄ tampi dukkhanti passati. mind, ideas, mind-consciousness, and mind contact are suffering. And they see that the painful, pleasant, or neutral feeling that arises conditioned by mind contact is also suffering.
Ayaį¹ kho sÄ, bhikkhave, nibbÄnasappÄyÄ paį¹ipadÄāti. This is that practice thatās conducive to extinguishment.ā
