BÄhirÄniccasutta The Exterior as Impermanent
āRÅ«pÄ, bhikkhave, aniccÄ. āMendicants, sights are impermanent.
Yadaniccaį¹ taį¹ dukkhaį¹; Whatās impermanent is suffering.
yaį¹ dukkhaį¹ tadanattÄ. Whatās suffering is not-self.
YadanattÄ taį¹ ānetaį¹ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attÄāti evametaį¹ yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ sammappaƱƱÄya daį¹į¹habbaį¹. And whatās not-self should be truly seen with right understanding like this: āThis is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.ā
SaddÄ ā¦ Sounds,
gandhÄ ā¦ smells,
rasÄ ā¦ tastes,
phoį¹į¹habbÄ ā¦ touches,
dhammÄ aniccÄ. and ideas are impermanent.

Evaį¹ passaį¹, bhikkhave, sutavÄ ariyasÄvako rÅ«pesupi nibbindati, saddesupi nibbindati, gandhesupi nibbindati, rasesupi nibbindati, phoį¹į¹habbesupi nibbindati, dhammesupi nibbindati. Seeing this, a learned noble disciple grows disillusioned with sights, sounds, smells, tastes, touches, and ideas.
Nibbindaį¹ virajjati; virÄgÄ vimuccati; vimuttasmiį¹ vimuttamiti ƱÄį¹aį¹ hoti. Being disillusioned, desire fades away. When desire fades away theyāre freed. When theyāre freed, they know theyāre freed.
āKhÄ«į¹Ä jÄti, vusitaį¹ brahmacariyaį¹, kataį¹ karaį¹Ä«yaį¹, nÄparaį¹ itthattÄyÄāti pajÄnÄtÄ«āti. They understand: āRebirth is ended, the spiritual journey has been completed, what had to be done has been done, there is nothing further for this place.āā
