ā€œko nu kho, bho gotama, hetu, ko paccayo, yānimāni anekavihitāni diį¹į¹higatāni loke uppajjantiā€”ā€œWhat is the cause, worthy Gotama, what is the reason why these various misconceptions arise in the world? That is:

sassato lokoti vā, asassato lokoti vā …pe… the cosmos is eternal, or not eternal …

neva hoti na na hoti tathāgato paraṁ maraṇāti vāā€ti? after death, a realized one neither still exists nor no longer exists.ā€

evamimāni anekavihitāni diį¹į¹higatāni loke uppajjanti—that these various misconceptions arise in the world.

sassato lokoti vā, asassato lokoti vā …pe…

neva hoti na na hoti tathāgato paraṁ maraṇāti vāā€ti.

Dutiyaṁ.
