RÅ«pataṇhāsutta Craving For Sights

Sāvatthinidānaṁ. At Sāvatthī.

ā€œRÅ«pataṇhā, bhikkhave, aniccā vipariṇāmÄ« aƱƱathābhāvÄ«; ā€œMendicants, craving for sights is impermanent, decaying, and perishing.

saddataṇhā … Craving for sounds,

gandhataṇhā … craving for smells,

rasataṇhā … craving for tastes,

phoį¹­į¹­habbataṇhā … craving for touches,

dhammataṇhā aniccā vipariṇāmÄ« aƱƱathābhāvÄ«. and craving for ideas are impermanent, decaying, and perishing.

Yo, bhikkhave, ime dhamme evaṁ saddahati adhimuccati, ayaṁ vuccati ā€˜saddhānusārÄ« …pe… Someone who has faith and confidence in these teachings is called a follower by faith. ā€¦ā€

sambodhiparāyanoā€™ā€ti.
