Aniccasutta Impermanence

Sāvatthinidānaṁ. At Sāvatthī.

Ekamantaṁ nisinno kho āyasmā rādho bhagavantaṁ etadavoca: Seated to one side, Venerable Rādha said to the Buddha:

ā€œā€˜aniccaṁ, aniccan’ti, bhante, vuccati. ā€œSir, they speak of this thing called ā€˜impermanence’.

Katamaṁ nu kho, bhante, aniccanā€ti? What is impermanence?ā€

ā€œRÅ«paṁ kho, rādha, aniccaṁ, vedanā aniccā, saƱƱā aniccā, saį¹…khārā aniccā, viññāṇaṁ aniccaṁ. ā€œRādha, form, feeling, perception, choices, and consciousness are impermanent.

nāparaṁ itthattāyāti pajānātÄ«ā€ti. They understand: ā€˜ā€¦ there is nothing further for this place.ā€™ā€
