āIdhÄhaį¹, Ävuso, gijjhakÅ«į¹Ä pabbatÄ orohanto addasaį¹ sÄmaį¹eriį¹ vehÄsaį¹ gacchantiį¹. āJust now, reverend, as I was descending from Vultureās Peak Mountain I saw a novice nun flying through the air.

EvarÅ«popi nÄma satto bhavissati. That there can be such a sentient being,
EvarÅ«popi nÄma yakkho bhavissati. such an entity,
EvarÅ«popi nÄma attabhÄvapaį¹ilÄbho bhavissatÄ«āāti. such an incarnation!āā
Atha kho bhagavÄ bhikkhÅ« Ämantesi: Then the Buddha said to the mendicants:
ācakkhubhÅ«tÄ vata, bhikkhave, sÄvakÄ viharanti; āMendicants, there are disciples who live full of vision and knowledge,
ƱÄį¹abhÅ«tÄ vata, bhikkhave, sÄvakÄ viharanti, yatra hi nÄma sÄvako evarÅ«paį¹ Ʊassati vÄ dakkhati vÄ sakkhiį¹ vÄ karissati. since a disciple knows, sees, and witnesses such a thing.
Pubbeva me sÄ, bhikkhave, sÄmaį¹erÄ« diį¹į¹hÄ ahosi. Formerly, I too saw that novice nun, but I did not speak of it.
Api cÄhaį¹ na byÄkÄsiį¹.
AhaƱcetaį¹ byÄkareyyaį¹, pare ca me na saddaheyyuį¹. For if I had spoken of it others would not have believed me,
Ye me na saddaheyyuį¹, tesaį¹ taį¹ assa dÄ«gharattaį¹ ahitÄya dukkhÄya. which would be for their lasting harm and suffering.
EsÄ, bhikkhave, sÄmaį¹erÄ« kassapassa sammÄsambuddhassa pÄvacane pÄpasÄmaį¹erÄ« ahosi. That female novice used to be a bad novice nun in the time of the Buddha Kassapaās dispensation.
SÄ tassa kammassa vipÄkena bahÅ«ni vassÄni bahÅ«ni vassasatÄni bahÅ«ni vassasahassÄni bahÅ«ni vassasatasahassÄni niraye paccitvÄ tasseva kammassa vipÄkÄvasesena evarÅ«paį¹ attabhÄvapaį¹ilÄbhaį¹ paį¹isaį¹vedayatÄ«āti. As a result of that deed she burned in hell for many years, many hundreds, many thousands, many hundreds of thousands of years. Now she experiences the residual result of that deed in such an incarnation.ā
