Atha kho sakko devÄnamindo yena bhagavÄ tenupasaį¹
kami; upasaį¹
kamitvÄ bhagavantaį¹ abhivÄdetvÄ ekamantaį¹ aį¹į¹hÄsi. Ekamantaį¹ į¹hito kho sakko devÄnamindo bhagavantaį¹ etadavoca: And then Sakka, lord of gods, went up to the Buddha, bowed, stood to one side, and said to him, Then Sakka, lord of the devas, approached the Blessed One, paid homage to him, stood to one side, and said to him:
ākiį¹ nu kho, bhante, bhÅ«mirÄmaį¹eyyakanāti? āSir, what is a delightful place?ā āVenerable sir, what is a delightful place?ā
āÄrÄmacetyÄ vanacetyÄ, āShrines in parks and forests, āShrines in parks and woodland shrines,
pokkharaƱƱo sunimmitÄ; well-made lotus ponds, Well-constructed lotus ponds:
ManussarÄmaį¹eyyassa, are not worth a sixteenth part Of a delightful human being

GÄme vÄ yadi vÄraƱƱe, Whether in village or wilderness, Whether in a village or forest,
