Vuį¹­į¹­hisutta Rain Rain

ā€œKiṁsu uppatataṁ seį¹­į¹­haṁ, ā€œWhat’s the best of things that rise? ā€œWhat is the best of things that rise up?

kiṁsu nipatataṁ varaṁ; And what’s the finestĀ thing to fall? What excels among things that fall down?

Kiṁsu pavajamānānaṁ, And what of the things that go forth? What is the best of things that go forth?

kiṁsu pavadataṁ varanā€ti. And who’s the finest speaker?ā€ Who is the most excellent of speakers?ā€

ā€œBÄ«jaṁ uppatataṁ seį¹­į¹­haṁ, ā€œA seed’s the best of things that rise. Another devatā: ā€œA seed is the best of things that rise up;

vuį¹­į¹­hi nipatataṁ varā; Rain’s the finest thing to fall. Rain excels among things that fall down;

Gāvo pavajamānānaṁ, Cattle, of things that go forth. Cattle are the best of things that go forth;

putto pavadataṁ varoā€ti. And a child is the finest speaker.ā€ A son is the most excellent of speakers. ā€

ā€œVijjā uppatataṁ seį¹­į¹­hā, ā€œKnowledge is best of things that rise. The Blessed One: ā€œKnowledge is the best of things that rise up;

avijjā nipatataṁ varā; Ignorance the finest thing to fall. Ignorance excels among things that fall down;

Saį¹…gho pavajamānānaṁ, The Saį¹…gha, of things that go forth. The Saį¹…gha is the best of things that go forth;

buddho pavadataṁ varoā€ti. And the Buddha is the finest speaker.ā€ The most excellent of speakers is the Buddha. ā€
