Ajarasāsutta Getting Old

ā€œKiṁsu ajarasā sādhu, ā€œWhat’s good because it never gets old? ā€œWhat is good by not decaying?

kiṁsu sādhu adhiį¹­į¹­hitaṁ; What’s good when committed? What is good when made secure?

Kiṁsu narānaṁ ratanaṁ, What is people’s treasure? What is the precious gem of humans?

kiṁsu corehyahāriyanā€ti. What can thieves never take?ā€ What cannot be stolen by thieves?ā€

ā€œSÄ«laṁ ajarasā sādhu, ā€œEthics are good because they never grow old. ā€œVirtue is good by not decaying;

saddhā sādhu adhiṭṭhitā; Faith is good when committed. Faith is good when made secure;

PaƱƱā narānaṁ ratanaṁ, Wisdom is people’s treasure. Wisdom is the precious gem of humans;

puƱƱaṁ corehyahāriyanā€ti. Merit’s what thieves can never take.ā€ Merit cannot be stolen by thieves. ā€
