āDasa putte vijÄyitvÄ, āI gave birth to ten children I gave birth to ten sons
asmiį¹ rÅ«pasamussaye; from this same body. in this form, this bag of bones.
Tatohaį¹ dubbalÄ jiį¹į¹Ä, Then when I was old and feeble, Then, when feeble and old,
bhikkhuniį¹ upasaį¹
kamiį¹. I approached a bhikkhunÄ«. I approached a nun.
SÄ me dhammamadesesi, She taught me the Dhamma: She taught me the Dhamma:
khandhÄyatanadhÄtuyo; the khandhas, elements, and sense domains. the aggregates, sense fields, and elements.
TassÄ dhammaį¹ suį¹itvÄna, After I listened to her Dhamma, When I heard her teaching,
kese chetvÄna pabbajiį¹. I cut off my hair and went forth. I shaved off my hair and went forth.
TassÄ me sikkhamÄnÄya, From training with her, When I was a trainee nun,
dibbacakkhu visodhitaį¹; my divine eye was purified. my clairvoyance was clarified,
PubbenivÄsaį¹ jÄnÄmi, I know my past lives, and I knew my past lives,
yattha me vusitaį¹ pure. where I dwelt previously. the places I used to live.
AnimittaƱca bhÄvemi, I cultivate objectless meditation I meditate on the signless,
ekaggÄ susamÄhitÄ; with a well-collected and one-pointed mind. my mind unified and serene.
AnantarÄvimokkhÄsiį¹, I was immediately liberated, I achieved the immediate liberation,
anupÄdÄya nibbutÄ. quenched because of non-grasping. quenched by not grasping.
PaƱcakkhandhÄ pariƱƱÄtÄ, The five khandhas are fully understood, The five aggregates are fully understood;
tiį¹į¹hanti chinnamÅ«lakÄ; they remain with roots destroyed. they remain, but their root is cut.
Dhi tavatthu jare jamme, What does it matter that I am decrepit? Curse you, wretched old age!
natthi dÄni punabbhavoāti. There is now no coming back to any state of being.ā now thereāll be no more future lives.
