āPurato pacchato vÄpi, If no-one else is found

AtÄ«va phÄsu bhavati, itās extremely pleasant
ekassa vasato vane. to be dwelling alone in a forest grove.
Handa eko gamissÄmi, Come now, Iāll go alone
araƱƱaį¹ buddhavaį¹į¹itaį¹; to the wilderness praised by the Buddha.
PhÄsu ekavihÄrissa, Itās pleasant for a mendicant
pahitattassa bhikkhuno. to be dwelling alone and resolute.
Yogi-pÄ«tikaraį¹ rammaį¹, Alone and self-disciplined,
mattakuƱjarasevitaį¹; Iāll quickly enter the delightful forest,
Eko attavasÄ« khippaį¹, which gives joy to meditators,
pavisissÄmi kÄnanaį¹. and is frequented by rutting elephants.
Supupphite sītavane, In the Cool Grove, so full of flowers,
sītale girikandare; in a cool mountain cave,
GattÄni parisiƱcitvÄ, Iāll bathe my limbs
caį¹
kamissÄmi ekako. and walk mindfully alone.
EkÄkiyo adutiyo, When will I dwell alone,
ramaį¹Ä«ye mahÄvane; without a companion,
KadÄhaį¹ viharissÄmi, in the great wood, so delightful,
katakicco anÄsavo. my task complete, free of defilements?
Evaį¹ me kattukÄmassa, This is what I want to do:
adhippÄyo samijjhatu; may my wish succeed!
SÄdhayissÄmahaį¹yeva, Iāll make it happen myself,
nÄƱƱo aƱƱassa kÄrako. for no-one can do anotherās duty.
Esa bandhÄmi sannÄhaį¹, Fastening my armor,
pavisissÄmi kÄnanaį¹; Iāll enter the forest.
Na tato nikkhamissÄmi, I wonāt leave
appatto Äsavakkhayaį¹. without attaining the end of defilements.
MÄlute upavÄyante, As the cool gale blows
sīte surabhigandhike; with fragrant scent,
Avijjaį¹ dÄlayissÄmi, Iāll split ignorance apart,
nisinno nagamuddhani. sitting on the mountain-peak.
Vane kusumasaƱchanne, In a forest grove covered with blossoms,
pabbhÄre nÅ«na sÄ«tale; in a cave so very cool,
Vimuttisukhena sukhito, I take pleasure in the Mountainfold,
ramissÄmi giribbaje. happy with the happiness of freedom.
Sohaį¹ paripuį¹į¹asaį¹
kappo, Iāve got all I wished for
cando pannaraso yathÄ; like the moon on the fifteenth day.
SabbÄsavaparikkhÄ«į¹o, With the utter ending of all defilements,
natthi dÄni punabbhavoāti. now thereāll be no more future lives.
