Bhidurasutta Fragile
VuttaƱhetaį¹ bhagavatÄ vuttamarahatÄti me sutaį¹: This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
āBhidurÄyaį¹, bhikkhave, kÄyo, viƱƱÄį¹aį¹ virÄgadhammaį¹, sabbe upadhÄ« aniccÄ dukkhÄ vipariį¹ÄmadhammÄāti. āThis body is fragile, mendicants, consciousness is liable to fade away, and all attachments are impermanent, suffering, and perishable.ā
Etamatthaį¹ bhagavÄ avoca. The Buddha spoke this matter.
Tatthetaį¹ iti vuccati: On this it is said:
āKÄyaƱca bhiduraį¹ ƱatvÄ, āKnowing that the body is fragile,
ViƱƱÄį¹aƱca virÄgunaį¹; that consciousness is faded,
UpadhÄ«su bhayaį¹ disvÄ, and seeing the danger in attachments,
JÄtimaraį¹amaccagÄ; they go beyond birth and death.
SampatvÄ paramaį¹ santiį¹, Having attained ultimate peace,
KÄlaį¹ kaį¹
khati bhÄvitattoāti. evolved, they await their time.ā
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatÄ, iti me sutanti. This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
