MicchÄdiį¹į¹hikasutta Having Wrong View
VuttaƱhetaį¹ bhagavatÄ vuttamarahatÄti me sutaį¹: This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
āDiį¹į¹hÄ mayÄ, bhikkhave, sattÄ kÄyaduccaritena samannÄgatÄ vacÄ«duccaritena samannÄgatÄ manoduccaritena samannÄgatÄ ariyÄnaį¹ upavÄdakÄ micchÄdiį¹į¹hikÄ micchÄdiį¹į¹hikammasamÄdÄnÄ. āMendicants, Iāve seen beings who engaged in misconduct by body, speech, and mind, who denounced the noble ones, who had wrong views and acted accordingly.
Te kÄyassa bhedÄ paraį¹ maraį¹Ä apÄyaį¹ duggatiį¹ vinipÄtaį¹ nirayaį¹ upapannÄ. At the breaking up of the body, after death, they were reborn in a place of loss, a bad place, the underworld, hell.
Taį¹ kho panÄhaį¹, bhikkhave, nÄƱƱassa samaį¹assa vÄ brÄhmaį¹assa vÄ sutvÄ vadÄmi. Now, I donāt say this because Iāve heard it from some other ascetic or brahmin.
Diį¹į¹hÄ mayÄ, bhikkhave, sattÄ kÄyaduccaritena samannÄgatÄ vacÄ«duccaritena samannÄgatÄ manoduccaritena samannÄgatÄ ariyÄnaį¹ upavÄdakÄ micchÄdiį¹į¹hikÄ micchÄdiį¹į¹hikammasamÄdÄnÄ.
Te kÄyassa bhedÄ paraį¹ maraį¹Ä apÄyaį¹ duggatiį¹ vinipÄtaį¹ nirayaį¹ upapannÄ.
Api ca, bhikkhave, yadeva sÄmaį¹ ƱÄtaį¹ sÄmaį¹ diį¹į¹haį¹ sÄmaį¹ viditaį¹ tadevÄhaį¹ vadÄmi. I only say it because Iāve known, seen, and realized it for myself.ā

Etamatthaį¹ bhagavÄ avoca. The Buddha spoke this matter.
Tatthetaį¹ iti vuccati: On this it is said:
āMicchÄ manaį¹ paį¹idhÄya, āWhen the mind has been misdirected,
micchÄ vÄcaƱca bhÄsiya; and words wrongly spoken,
MicchÄ kammÄni katvÄna, and wrong bodily deeds have been done,
kÄyena idha puggalo. a person here
AppassutÄpuƱƱakaro, unlearned, doer of bad deeds,
appasmiį¹ idha jÄ«vite; though their life may be short,
KÄyassa bhedÄ duppaƱƱo, when their body breaks up, that witless person
nirayaį¹ sopapajjatÄ«āti. is reborn in hell.ā
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatÄ, iti me sutanti. This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
