NibbÄnasutta Extinguishment
āNibbÄne sukhÄnupassÄ« viharati sukhasaƱƱī sukhapaį¹isaį¹vedÄ« satataį¹ samitaį¹ abbokiį¹į¹aį¹ cetasÄ adhimuccamÄno paƱƱÄya pariyogÄhamÄno. āFirst, take a person who meditates observing the happiness in extinguishment. They perceive happiness and experience happiness. Constantly, continually, and without interruption, they apply the mind and fathom with wisdom.
So ÄsavÄnaį¹ khayÄ ā¦peā¦ sacchikatvÄ upasampajja viharati. Theyāve realized the undefiled freedom of heart and freedom by wisdom in this very life, and live having realized it with their own insight due to the ending of defilements.
Ayaį¹ bhikkhave, paį¹hamo puggalo Ähuneyyo ā¦peā¦ puƱƱakkhettaį¹ lokassa. This is the first person worthy of offerings.
Puna caparaį¹, bhikkhave, idhekacco puggalo nibbÄne sukhÄnupassÄ« viharati sukhasaƱƱī sukhapaį¹isaį¹vedÄ« satataį¹ samitaį¹ abbokiį¹į¹aį¹ cetasÄ adhimuccamÄno paƱƱÄya pariyogÄhamÄno. Next, take a person who meditates observing the happiness in extinguishment. They perceive happiness and experience happiness. Constantly, continually, and without interruption, they apply the mind and fathom with wisdom.
Tassa apubbaį¹ acarimaį¹ ÄsavapariyÄdÄnaƱca hoti jÄ«vitapariyÄdÄnaƱca. Their defilements and their life come to an end at exactly the same time.

Ime kho, bhikkhave, satta puggalÄ ÄhuneyyÄ ā¦peā¦ anuttaraį¹ puƱƱakkhettaį¹ lokassÄāti. These are the seven people who are worthy of offerings dedicated to the gods, worthy of hospitality, worthy of a religious donation, worthy of greeting with joined palms, and are the supreme field of merit for the world.ā
