Sekhasutta A Trainee

ā€œChayime, bhikkhave, dhammā sekhassa bhikkhuno parihānāya saṁvattanti. ā€œThese six things lead to the decline of a mendicant trainee.

Katame cha? What six?

Kammārāmatā, bhassārāmatā, niddārāmatā, saį¹…gaṇikārāmatā, indriyesu aguttadvāratā, bhojane amattaƱƱutā—They relish work, talk, sleep, and company. They don’t guard the sense doors, and they eat too much.

ime kho, bhikkhave, cha dhammā sekhassa bhikkhuno parihānāya saṁvattanti. These six things lead to the decline of a mendicant trainee.

Chayime, bhikkhave, dhammā sekhassa bhikkhuno aparihānāya saṁvattanti. These six things don’t lead to the decline of a mendicant trainee.

Na kammārāmatā, na bhassārāmatā, na niddārāmatā, na saį¹…gaṇikārāmatā, indriyesu guttadvāratā, bhojane mattaƱƱutā—They don’t relish work, talk, sleep, and company. They guard the sense doors, and they don’t eat too much.
