Paṭhamaiddhipādasutta Bases of Psychic Power (1st)

ā€œYo hi koci, bhikkhave, bhikkhu vā bhikkhunÄ« vā paƱca dhamme bhāveti, paƱca dhamme bahulÄ«karoti, tassa dvinnaṁ phalānaṁ aƱƱataraṁ phalaṁ pāṭikaį¹…khaį¹ā€”ā€œMendicants, any monk or nun who develops and cultivates five qualities can expect one of two results:

diį¹­į¹­heva dhamme aƱƱā, sati vā upādisese anāgāmitā. enlightenment in this very life, or if there’s something left over, non-return.

Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu chandasamādhipadhānasaį¹…khārasamannāgataṁ iddhipādaṁ bhāveti, A mendicant develops the basis of psychic power that has immersion due to enthusiasm, and active effort …

ussoḷhiññeva pañcamiṁ. And the fifth is sheer vigor.

Yo hi koci, bhikkhave, bhikkhu vā bhikkhunÄ« vā ime paƱca dhamme bhāveti, ime paƱca dhamme bahulÄ«karoti, tassa dvinnaṁ phalānaṁ aƱƱataraṁ phalaṁ pāṭikaį¹…khaṁ—Any monk or nun who develops and cultivates these five qualities can expect one of two results:
